Reminder:

Also:
Wear pink on Friday, March 13 to show your support for public schools, students and educators.
March 13 is the deadline for school districts to issue preliminary pink slips to California's teachers. Last year, more than 10,000 teachers got pink slips and nearly 5,000 lost their jobs. And this year could be much worse.

Please join us on Friday, March 13 and Stand Up for Schools.

It's just awful seeing teachers commit their lives to educating us and soon, getting pink slips. It's as if they are no longer needed and that their work won't be appreciated. Just simply horrifying.

When will it come to a time when we won't have to worry about job lay-offs?

Thank you for your kind words. The great part of teaching is touching young lives and being a role model. I worry about the quality of education if cuts and layoffs are constantly being made. How are kids expected to learn in a class of 40 ? How are kids suppose to learn sportsmanship if athletics are cut ? How are kids expected to be healthy if PE teachers are laid off ? How are kids suppose to be model citizens if they do not have role models ?
